Buffalo State College announces the Nor’easter Conference: Aesthetics and Practice in Cast Iron Art, November 14-17, 2012. We are pleased to have International Sculptor, Beverly Pepper, commence the artist lecture series of this inaugural event.
The Nor’easter Conference asserts a clear and determined focus on Aesthetics and Practice in Cast Iron Art. We aim to provide a space to teach, learn and develop within the practice of casting iron, to support discussions on aesthetics and to promote a methodology of innovation, creativity and production to align this practice with 21st century concerns.
Proposals are currently being accepted for the following sessions: 1- Artist Lecture Series 2- Alternative Fuel/Furnace Design 3- Presentations/Panels/Lectures 4- Demonstrations 5- Performance
Additionally, there will be three indoor gallery exhibitions, one outdoor space and one online exhibition. Check the website for updates and guidelines on submitting your work. Deadline for all submissions is July 15.
