Mark your calendars and plan to attend the Dedication for a Memorial to Harold W. Bradley, Jr. (UI Fine Arts, 1951)

Friday, April 12, 2024
5:00 - 6:30 p.m. (Program begins at 5:45)
International Ballroom, IMU
125 N Madison St., Iowa City, IA 5224

Bradley (1929-2021) is one of our alums who should be better known.  He graduated from the UI Department of Art in 1951 and had a fascinating career in addition to being a painter (several of his portraits of athletes hang in the IMU). He was the first African American to play (with the Hawkeyes) in the Orange Bowl, an NFL football player, an actor in more than a dozen movies, an art studio owner (in Italy), a professor at the University of Illinois, and a producer of educational and public affairs television shows.
