Curriculum Vitae

Laura Young is a landscape and still life painter and is currently a Lecturer in the School of Art and Art History at the University of Iowa. She has won numerous fellowships and awards such as a Pollock Krasner Foundation Fellowship (1994), two Iowa Arts Council Grants (1997 and 2001), a New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship (1985) and residency fellowships including Yaddo (1995), The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency (2006), and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (multiple residencies) She has shown across the United States in museums, commercial galleries, juried and group shows, as well as internationally in Denmark and Nigeria and is represented nationally in corporate and private collections. She is currently represented by The Hudson River Gallery in Iowa City, The Perry Nicole Gallery in Memphis, Tennessee and the David Kline Gallery in Birmingham, Michigan.
